Het Griekse Huis in Rotterdam a new beginning an open invitation to all

I am writing this post to share some wonderful news! There is a big important step that some Greeks are taking in Rotterdam. If you are into new, interesting activities and opportunities related to Greek culture, keep reading this post.

What is "Het Griekse Huis in Rotterdam”?

“Het Griekse Huis in Rotterdam” is the official cultural group of the Union of the Greeks in the Netherlands (Vereniging van Grieken in Nederland). It is located in the centre of Rotterdam and it's members are young immigrants who want to make a difference in the Netherlands. This cultural group acts voluntarily and it is responsible to organize many different cultural activities in and outside of the Greek House.

What activities are organized by the volunteers of “Het Griekse Huis in Rotterdam”?

Many activities are already on and more are coming. Greeks that are members in the group could hang out in the Greek House, welcome and help new-comers from Greece that are looking for information about life in the Netherlands and organize special nights, like movie-nights or Greek music nights. Inside the Greek house you could find the area where many feasts take place (e.g. Greek Carnival party, Greek Easter party etc.), the living-room for our weekly meetings, the Library room where someone can find more than 1000 books which could be rented by members and non-members. Moreover, there is enough space for people who are interested to teach or to participate in music lessons, language lessons etc.

Is “Het Griekse Huis in Rotterdam” an open group that anyone can join?

Yes, this cultural group is open to all the Greeks that want to come and meet other Greeks, participate in the current activities or be a member of the group and help or even organize new activities.

Last but not least!

Don't forget that on 10th of November 2017 we arrange the Open House! It's an open meeting (free entrance) for everyone that wants to meet us, get informed about our scheduled activities and our upcoming plans. You will watch a small presentation, you will meet our wonderful volunteers, you will socialize with other Greeks.

We will provide cold drinks and nice company. You just have to come!
